"I played the new links course in Lake Elsinore again. The slope rating from the blues is 135.
I shot an 82. 82 is my best round this year. First hole, a short par 4, I took a 7 while trying to protect my new wedges . On hole 16 I had a double bogey. "Speaking of single digits. When I started with you I was a 14 handicap.
Friday I won the second round of our club's President Cup. I shot an 81 at Tijeras Creek. Sunday, I shot an 80 at Green River. I am now trending toward an 11 handicap. 7 of 8 rounds in June have been wither 80 or 81. I expect to be a single digit within a month"

"Last Wednesday at Sommerline in Lake Elsinore I shot a 78 from the blue tee's. Saturday at Tijeras Creek I shot a 78 from the blue tee's. Your lessons are having an effect. Handicap has moved from a 14 when we first met to a 10.5 this month. The trend is to 9.2."

Update 9/3/08

"Just a follow-up on my progress. New Handicap is 8.5 with a trend toward 8.3. Your lessons have done a great job of getting my swinging motion into pure energy instead of off center hits. I'm only missing 1 to 2 fairways each time I play. Biggest problem seems to be my iron play; however I noticed today I was not finishing my back swing, so I'll work on that a little more. Thanks Jay, I'm really enjoying being back into the single digit area."

***** ***** "Jay, last Saturday I played in the Jack Nicklaus flight of the SCGA Net Championship at Hidden Valley in Norco. I finished first and am now moving on to the Championship at Industry Hills later this month. The day after the finals at Industry Hills, I will be playing the qualifying round for the SCGA Senior Championships.
We had a brief review just before the Net Qualifier and it made a difference. Your coaching has moved me to a new level of play. It is amazing the joy you get when you are 190 out, into the wind on the last hole of a qualifier and hit the flag stick to put yourself within five feet for birdie. "I went to Jay as a solid 11 handicap with a pretty good knowledge of the golf swing. Through his analysis and teaching technique I now have a better understanding of the golf swing. After 2 lessons (and hitting balls every day in between to reinforce what I had learned) I shot 75 at the Players course at Mile Square from the Blue Tees. I only missed 3 fairways and 4 greens.
